Hold Me To It is being built so the core check-in remains usable without sight, hearing, fine pointer control, motion, or audio.

iPhone app approach

The Version 1.0 design requires:

  • VoiceOver labels, meaningful reading order, and focus restoration after Apple's authorization, system picker, shield handoff, and older-iOS manual return.
  • Support for accessibility Dynamic Type sizes without hiding the goal or response actions.
  • Unique accessible labels and identifiers for Voice Control and Switch Control.
  • No meaning conveyed by color alone and no required hidden gesture.
  • Reduced motion support and controls that remain legible with increased contrast or reduced transparency.
  • Goal text and deterministic supportive text as a complete alternative to every optional recording.
  • Visible recording and playback progress for people who cannot hear audio.
  • The shield's OS-appropriate primary action and the in-app Stay/Continue access decision available without a hidden gesture.
  • A complete manual check-in path when Screen Time authorization is denied, revoked, restricted, or unavailable.

Apple controls the Family Controls authorization sheet, activity picker, and parts of the shield surface. HMTI cannot redesign those system interfaces, but the release must test their VoiceOver, search, focus, Dynamic Type, Voice Control, and Switch Control behavior on every supported iOS path. On iOS 17 through iOS 26.4, the shield cannot open HMTI; the instruction to open HMTI manually must be perceivable and operable without sight or fine motor control.

Website approach

This website uses semantic HTML landmarks and headings, visible keyboard focus, a skip link, native link and disclosure controls, responsive text, high-contrast colors, system fonts, reduced-motion support, descriptive link text, and print-friendly long-form pages.

The site does not depend on remote fonts, video, audio, drag gestures, timed interactions, hover, or color alone. Page content remains available when style sheets do not load.

Validation status

Source-level accessibility requirements and the static website structure are implemented. Formal assistive-technology review of the processed App Store build, including VoiceOver, Switch Control, Voice Control, accessibility Dynamic Type, reduced motion, contrast settings, and hearing-access alternatives, remains a release gate. This page does not claim a formal WCAG certification or third-party accessibility audit.
