By downloading, accessing, or using Hold Me To It, you agree to these terms and the Privacy notice. If you do not agree, do not use the app or site.

Eligibility and launch scope

Version 1.0 is intended only for adults who are at least 18 years old and located in the United States. By completing the adult attestation, you confirm that you meet the age requirement. U.S. safety resources may not be appropriate outside the United States.

Hold Me To It is a general self-help and wellness tool. It is not designed for use by a clinician, emergency responder, guardian, employer, casino, sportsbook, creditor, or other person to monitor or control someone else.

What Hold Me To It does

The app lets you use Apple's private system picker to select individual apps on your own iPhone. If you approve individual Family Controls authorization, HMTI uses Apple's opaque, device-local application tokens to place a reversible Managed Settings shield before those apps. You can also save a goal, make optional recordings and reflections, perform manual check-ins, and view deterministic local insights.

The shield is an access gate intended to create a pause. It is not passive monitoring, a guarantee that access will always be interrupted, or proof that an app was used or that a wager, purchase, post, relapse, or other outcome occurred. HMTI does not receive your general installed-app list or raw Screen Time history, inspect content inside another app, monitor financial activity, or determine what you did. You retain responsibility for every decision you make.

Version 1.0 supports individual app selections only. It does not commit category or website selections. A 15-minute continue choice may temporarily release only the triggering selected app after HMTI arms Apple's recovery schedule; HMTI cannot reopen or deep-link into an arbitrary app.

Version 1.0 is free, has no HMTI account, and does not include a subscription. If optional paid features are introduced in a later release, the price, renewal terms, cancellation method, Apple purchase terms, and any additional terms will be shown before purchase. This paragraph does not create a current subscription agreement.

Safety and care boundaries

Use of the app does not create a doctor-patient, therapist-client, counselor-client, fiduciary, or emergency-services relationship. Do not delay professional care or emergency assistance because of anything shown by the app.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use HMTI to monitor, coerce, punish, threaten, shame, or impersonate another person.
• Use the app for unlawful activity or to interfere with the app, site, Apple services, or another person’s device.
• Attempt to bypass security controls, distribute malicious code, reverse engineer the service where prohibited by applicable law, or misrepresent the service as medical or emergency care.
• Copy HMTI branding, interface, text, or artwork in a way that violates applicable intellectual-property law.

You are responsible for the content you choose to record, reflect on, export, share, or store elsewhere. Do not record another person without any consent required by applicable law.

Apple Screen Time and external services

The app is distributed through Apple and may use Family Controls authorization, Apple's system activity picker, Managed Settings shields, Device Activity recovery, optional App Intents, local notifications, microphone access, device authentication, the share sheet, and system settings. Apple controls those services, can change them, and applies its own terms and privacy practices.

You choose whether to approve or revoke Screen Time access and which individual apps to select. Authorization and opaque selections are specific to the configured device and must be set up again on a new or replacement device.

On iOS 26.5 or later, Apple's shield response may open HMTI for a check-in. On iOS 17 through iOS 26.4, the shield closes the selected app and you must open HMTI manually. HMTI cannot guarantee that Apple's picker or shield remains available, that Device Activity restores a shield at an exact second, that a notification is visible through Focus or Scheduled Summary, or that a particular Apple interface label remains unchanged.

External support links and email leave HMTI. Their operators are responsible for their own services, availability, content, and privacy practices.

Ownership and feedback

HMTI’s app, site, branding, original text, and original visual elements are protected by applicable intellectual-property law. These terms give you a limited, personal, nonexclusive, nontransferable right to use the app for its intended purpose; they do not transfer ownership.

You retain responsibility for and any rights you have in goals, recordings, and reflections you create. If you voluntarily send product feedback, HMTI may use it to improve the service without publishing your private app content or identifying you as the source.

Availability and disclaimers

To the extent permitted by applicable law, the app and site are provided “as is” and “as available.” HMTI does not promise uninterrupted operation, compatibility with every device or future iOS version, display or recovery timing of every shield, delivery of every notification, preservation through deletion or device loss, transfer of Screen Time setup to another device, a particular behavior change, gambling cessation, financial savings, recovery, or any other outcome.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty exclusions, so portions of this section may not apply to you. Rights that cannot lawfully be excluded remain unaffected.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, HMTI’s operator will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost data, lost profits, gambling losses, financial decisions, service interruptions, or actions taken after a check-in. This limitation does not exclude liability that applicable law does not permit to be limited.

You may have consumer rights that vary by jurisdiction. Nothing in these terms waives a nonwaivable right.

Changes, suspension, and contact

The app or site may change, be suspended, or be discontinued. Material term changes will be published with a revised effective date. Continued use after revised terms take effect means you accept the revised terms to the extent permitted by law.
