Safety and support

Direct U.S. resources for gambling support, crisis support, and immediate danger.

Resources last manually verified: July 11, 2026

Immediate danger

If you or someone else is in immediate danger, call 911.

Crisis support

For emotional distress, mental health struggles, substance-use concerns, or suicidal crisis in the United States:

The 988 Lifeline states that call, text, and chat support is available 24 hours a day, every day. The Lifeline is operated independently of Hold Me To It.

Gambling support

The National Problem Gambling Helpline connects people affected by problem gambling with support, information, and local resources throughout the United States and U.S. territories.

This helpline is a gambling-support resource, not an emergency service. The National Council on Problem Gambling operates it independently of Hold Me To It. Standard text-message or data rates may apply.

What Hold Me To It cannot do

Hold Me To It does not monitor your recordings or reflections, does not provide emergency response, and cannot determine whether you are in danger. If you need immediate help, contact 988 or 911.

The app does not perform suicide detection, keyword scanning, sentiment analysis, automatic emergency contact, or passive monitoring. HMTI support email is not a crisis line.

Outside the United States

These resources and Hold Me To It Version 1.0 are U.S.-specific. If you are elsewhere, use the emergency, crisis, and gambling-support resources appropriate to your location.
