Adult policy
Quick Setup asks the person using the app to choose “I’m 18 or Older — Choose Apps” before requesting Apple's individual Screen Time authorization or selecting apps. The app does not ask for a birthdate, government identifier, or identity document, and it does not represent that this tap independently verifies age.
If you are under 18, choose “I’m under 18” instead. After a confirmation, HMTI enters age-limited mode, turns off its app protection and adult features, and keeps safety resources and Delete All available. Version 1.0 is not designed, tested, or offered as a child-directed service.
What the app is not
Hold Me To It is a voluntary self-help and wellness tool. With your approval, it can place a reversible Apple shield on individual apps you select on your own iPhone. It is not designed to monitor or control another person, provide medical care, diagnose or treat a condition, guarantee an urge or gambling will stop, or provide emergency monitoring.
A shield is a pause, not proof of what happened. You can remove selected apps, pause protection, revoke Screen Time access, or choose a bounded intentional-continue path. Family Controls authorization and app selections are device-specific.
The app does not monitor recordings or reflections and cannot determine whether someone is in danger. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, call 911. For crisis support in the United States, call or text 988.
For people under 18
Age-limited mode stores one local eligibility decision redundantly so a failed write cannot reopen adult features. It does not store your birth date or numeric age. The decision remains until completed Delete All or app removal. Delete All is available directly from Age Eligibility and uses device authentication when available.
If you are under 18 and worried about gambling, an urge, money, safety, or someone else’s behavior, consider speaking with a trusted adult, licensed professional, school counselor, or an appropriate local support service. Emergency and crisis information remains available on the Safety page.

United States launch scope
Version 1.0 launches for the United States in English. The listed gambling, crisis, and emergency resources are U.S.-specific. If you are outside the United States, use services appropriate to your location.
